Our First Holiday Together

Jules and I both have ADHD, which, if I am being honest, is one of my favorite things about him. It also means that we’re both unbelievably impulsive.

I’ll tell you about one example—Universal Studios.

After a whole two and a half months together, Jules and I were walking around Downtown Phoenix, and we decided to go to a coffee shop for breakfast. In the time that we had walked to the cafe, eaten, and walked back, we had decided to take a vacation together a few days in the future.

The following day, we got our hotel, Universal Studios tickets, and our plane tickets—and a week after that? We were off!

Jules, bless him, rode the same ride while we were there with me (probably 10 times, truthfully). It was the most fun trip I have ever been on in my life—cloaks, wands, eating at the Three Broomsticks…a Potterhead’s dream coming true!

At the end of our first day there, Jules and I watched the laser light show that they did for the holidays on the Hogwarts castle. This moment sticks out to me because it was on this day—December 17, 2024–that I knew I was going to marry the man beside me (Jules, obviously…not the stranger a few feet away).

It’s true…when you know, you know. And I’ve never been more sure about anything.
